пры ўмове, што
On Condition That
Use пры ўмове, што to set a condition: Я пагаджуся пры ўмове, што ты дапаможаш. (I will agree provided that you help.)
How It Works
Пры ўмове, што introduces a condition that must be met: Я пагаджуся пры ўмове, што ты дапаможаш. (I will agree provided that you help.) Compared with a plain калі (if), it stresses that without the condition the deal is off. Толькі makes that even stronger: толькі пры ўмове, што... (only on condition that...).
Tense. Use the future for a future condition, just as with калі: пры ўмове, што не будзе дажджу (provided that it does not rain).
With a noun. Drop што and use the genitive: пры ўмове добрага надвор'я (weather permitting), пры ўмове аплаты (subject to payment).
Synonym. З умовай, што means the same and is common when someone agrees to give or allow something: Яна дала мне кнігу з умовай, што я прачытаю яе за тыдзень.
Spelling. Пры ends in a vowel, so умове always starts with ў in this phrase, as the rule for у and ў after a vowel requires. Put a comma before што, as in any complex sentence.
