اب / ابھی
Now and Right Now
Use اب for a general current time. Use ابھی when the speaker highlights the immediate moment or a recent change.
How It Works
اب میں گھر میں ہوں says that I am at home now.
ابھی چائے گرم ہے can mean the tea is still hot. The conversation supplies the exact meaning.
ابھی آتی ہوں can mean I am coming right away or in a moment. The speaker uses feminine آتی ہوں.
ندا ابھی خط لکھ رہی ہے says that Nida is writing a letter right now. With a past event, ابھی can instead mean just or a short time ago.
