خدا کرے کہ
Expressing a Hope or Blessing
خدا کرے کہ → may this happen.
How It Works
خدا کرے کہ literally calls on God to bring about the following situation. It can express a blessing or a heartfelt hope in conversation.
The following verb normally uses the subjunctive: رہے for one third-person subject, رہیں for a respectful addressee or a plural subject, and ہو for a singular state.
This expression has religious wording. Learn it for contexts where that wording fits the speaker; a plain امید ہے کہ sentence can express hope without the same invocation.
