Numbers Above 100
Cent is 100 and mila is 1,000.
How It Works
Large numbers are built from the same words in the same order as in English.
| Number | Occitan |
|---|---|
| 100 | cent |
| 120 | cent vint |
| 200 | dos cents |
| 300 | tres cents |
| 1,000 | mila |
| 2,000 | dos mila |
| 1900 | mila nòu cents |
Write dos cents as two words. Mila has no plural, and the noun that follows can be plural: mila personas. For a year, read the thousands first, as in mila nòu cents.
Numbers above a hundred are said without e: cent vint is 120. The numbers from 21 to 99 keep their own pattern (vint-e-un, trenta-cinc), and the Level 1 entry nombres de 20 a 100 covers them.
