Negative Commands
Negative command: parles pas, finiscas pas, vendas pas.
How It Works
| Verb | tu | nosautres | vosautres |
|---|---|---|---|
| parlar | parles pas | parlem pas | parletz pas |
| manjar | manges pas | mangem pas | mangetz pas |
| finir | finiscas pas | finiscam pas | finiscatz pas |
| vendre | vendas pas | vendam pas | vendatz pas |
Do not use the positive command with pas: Parla pas! is wrong. The negative command has its own forms.
An object pronoun goes before the verb: Me parles pas! Do not talk to me! The pronoun hyphen of the positive command (Parla-me!) is gone.
A few common verbs have irregular forms, such as fagas pas (far) and siás pas (èsser).
