Saying Okay with ल
ल is a short word for okay, right, here you go or well then.
How It Works
ल is a short word with a few small jobs. At the start of an answer it means okay or all right: ल, म जान्छु (OK, I am going). When you hand something over, it means here you go: ल, यो चिया लिनुहोस् (here, take this tea). To start an action together, it means well then: ल, अब हामी जाऔँ (well then, let us go).
You can say it twice for a warmer all right, all right: ल ल, चिन्ता नगर्नुहोस् (all right, all right, do not worry).
ल goes at the start, and a comma usually follows it. It does not change. The verb after it carries the respect level.
Do not use ल to answer a yes or no question such as तपाईं नेपाली हुनुहुन्छ?. Answer with हो or होइन, or repeat the verb of the question, as the entry on yes and no answers shows. ल agrees with a request or a plan.
