आहे

Saying Your Name

Level 1Sounds Like mājhē nāva … āhē

Use माझे, तुझे and तुमचे with नाव, because नाव is neuter.

How It Works

Names go between नाव and आहे.

WhoseSentence

Use तुझे with a friend and तुमचे with an elder or a stranger.

The verb आहे matches नाव, so it stays आहे for every name.

You can also say मी सई आहे, which means I am Sai.

A man or a woman says the same sentence. Only the name changes:

Answer a name question with the full sentence or with the name alone: सई.
