Add -बाक लेल to a verb to say "in order to".

How It Works

The pattern is the -बाक form plus लेल (for).

The phrase can come before or after the main verb. Both are natural: हम अहाँ सँ भेंट करबाक लेल आएल छी, or हम आएल छी अहाँ सँ भेंट करबाक लेल.

You may also see -बा लेल in print. Write -बाक लेल. Speakers also use the infinitive in -ए with लेल, but -बाक लेल is the form to learn first.

Do not use -बाक लेल for "because of". Use किएक तँ for a reason and -बाक लेल for a purpose.
