सोमवार को
Days and Times with को
Days, dates and parts of the day take को to say when: सोमवार को, दस तारीख़ को, रात को.
How It Works
English says on Monday, at night and in the afternoon. Hindi uses one word, को, after the time word.
| English | Hindi |
|---|---|
| on Monday | सोमवार को |
| on Sunday | रविवार को |
| on the 15th | पंद्रह तारीख़ को |
| in the afternoon | दोपहर को |
| in the evening | शाम को |
| at night | रात को |
सुबह (morning) usually stands alone: मैं सुबह चाय पीता हूँ. You will hear शाम both alone and as शाम को.
Some time words do not take को: आज, कल, अभी, and clock times with बजे (पाँच बजे). When आज or कल comes first, को is often left out: आज रात (tonight), कल सुबह (tomorrow morning). You will also hear कल रात को. With हर (every), को is optional: हर सोमवार or हर सोमवार को (every Monday).
The days of the week are सोमवार, मंगलवार, बुधवार, गुरुवार, शुक्रवार, शनिवार and रविवार.
