Better and Worse
უკეთესი means better, უარესი means worse, and უკეთ is better as an adverb.
How It Works
| With a noun | With a verb | |
|---|---|---|
| good | კარგი | კარგად (well) |
| better | უკეთესი (uk'etesi) | უკეთ (uk'et) |
| bad | ცუდი | ცუდად (badly) |
| worse | უარესი (uaresi) | უარესად |
For most adjectives, Georgian says more with უფრო: უფრო დიდი (bigger). Good and bad have these special forms, and they are the usual choice. You will also hear უფრო კარგი in speech.
How you feel takes the adverb: დღეს უკეთ ვარ (I'm better today).
Like other adjectives, უკეთესი drops its -ი before a noun in another case: უკეთეს სასტუმროში (in a better hotel).
