აღარ

No Longer

Level 3Sounds Like aghar

Put აღარ before the verb to say no longer or not anymore.

How It Works

With არWith აღარ
იქ არ ვცხოვრობ. (I don't live there.)იქ აღარ (aghar) ვცხოვრობ. (I don't live there anymore.)
არ წვიმს. (It isn't raining.)აღარ წვიმს. (It isn't raining anymore.)
ის აქ არ არის. (He isn't here.)ის აქ აღარ არის. (He isn't here anymore.)

With the future, აღარ promises that something won't happen again: აღარ გავაკეთებ (I won't do it again).

ვერ has its own version, ვეღარ (can no longer): ვეღარ ვჭამ, ძალიან ბევრია (I can't eat anymore, it's too much).

აღარ already holds the not, so it never needs a second არ next to it.

To ask whether something is still true, use ჯერ კიდევ (still): ჯერ კიდევ აქ ცხოვრობ? (Do you still live here?)
