Much More and a Bit More

Level 4

Put the degree word right before pli.

How It Works

Degree wordExampleMeaning
multe plimulte pli bonamuch better
iom pliiom pli grandaa bit bigger
ankoraŭ pliankoraŭ pli belaeven more beautiful
multe malplimulte malpli rapidemuch less quickly

Tre means "very" and goes before an adjective or adverb: tre bona. Before pli use multe: multe pli bona. Iom means a small amount that still counts, so iom pli varme is a little warmer.

A measure with -n shows the exact difference: Ewa estas du jarojn pli aĝa ol Wei. What you compare with comes after ol.
