ساعت … بجه
Telling the Time with بجه
Ask the time with ساعت چند است؟ and answer with ساعت and the hour.
How It Works
A time phrase has three parts: ساعت, the hour and بجه. For half past and a quarter past, the minutes follow the hour with و.
| Time | Dari |
|---|---|
| ۸:۰۰ | ساعت هشت بجه |
| ۲:۳۰ | ساعت دو و نیم |
| ۵:۱۵ | ساعت پنج و ربع |
| ۱۲:۰۰ | ساعت دوازده بجه |
To ask the time, say ساعت چند است؟ The answer is ساعت سه بجه است. To say when something happens, drop است and put the time first: ساعت سه بجه میآیم.
Add صبح (morning) or شب (night) when it matters: ساعت هشت بجه صبح, ساعت هشت بجه شب.
The same phrase works with any tense: دیروز ساعت هفت بجه رفتم means yesterday I left at seven. نیم means half and ربع means a quarter.
