Regular ER and RE Present
Many -er and -re verbs follow perdo, perds, perd, perdem, perdeu and perden.
How It Works
Perdre illustrates a common second-conjugation present pattern. The first-person form adds -o in this model; the second and third singular are perds and perd. Aprendre similarly gives aprenc in the first person, showing why the family also contains stem changes.
Rebre has rebo, reps and rep, so spelling can change between forms. Learn a small full paradigm for each frequent verb instead of assuming that every second-conjugation stem stays identical. The infinitive ending identifies the broad class, not every irregular detail.
Venir means come and belongs to the -ir group; vens from venir is not an example of regular -er or -re conjugation. Vendre means sell and does belong here: venc, vens, ven. Context and the infinitive distinguish the two identical vens forms.
