en (partitiu amb quantificadors)
Partitive En with Quantifiers
En replaces the understood noun in a quantified object while the quantity remains.
How It Works
Compare vull dues pomes with en vull dues. The numeral or quantity still tells how much; en supplies the understood noun. Gender remains visible on a quantity such as dues when the noun is feminine.
Quantifiers such as moltes, prou or cap can also remain: en tenim moltes, no en queda cap. A fully definite object instead uses el, la, els or les. Do not replace both an identified whole object and an indefinite quantity with the same pronoun by default.
When stating the noun again as a detached topic, introduce it with de: de pomes, en vull dues. In an ordinary continuous phrase, use the full noun without redundant en.

- N'hem comprat prou.

- De cadires, en necessitem quatre.
As for chairs, we need four.
