pisat ću
The Future: Pisat Ću
The usual written future drops the final -i of the infinitive and puts the short helper after it.
How It Works
| Person | Form |
|---|---|
| ja | pisat ću |
| ti | pisat ćeš |
| on, ona | pisat će |
| mi | pisat ćemo |
| vi | pisat ćete |
| oni | pisat će |
Start with the infinitive (čitati, raditi, pitati), take off the final -i, then add the helper: čitat ću, radit ćemo, pitat će.
Verbs whose infinitive ends in -ći are different: doći ću, moći ćeš, reći ćemo. Write the words apart, as in pisat ću. Serbian and Montenegrin writers join them as pisaću, and you will meet that spelling too. Do not worry: both are understood.
