-त घरी

While Doing: -त घरी

Level 4Sounds Like ta gharī

-त plus घरी means while doing something.

How It Works

घरी means "time" or "moment". After a verb in the -त form it gives the time of another action: जात घरी is "while going", "on the way".

VerbPhrase
जाइलजात घरी
आवलआवत घरी
पढ़लपढ़त घरी
खाइलखात घरी

The tense is in the second half, not in the -त घरी phrase. The same phrase can talk about the past or the future.

For "as soon as", use -ते instead. -त घरी keeps both actions going at the same time.
