-त plus रहत अहै means something keeps going on.

How It Works

The -त form with the helper (करत अहै) says something is happening now. Add रहत between them, and the meaning becomes "keeps on" or "is always".

The main verb is the -त form, and रहत takes the same helper as a normal present: अहै, अहैं, हौ or अही.

The pattern fits a long stretch of time (दिन भर, रोज) or a repeated action. It can also show a mild complaint: ऊ दिन भर फोन करत रहत अहै.

For the past, change the helper: ऊ फोन करत रहत रहा (he used to keep calling). Keep the order the same.
