बजे is used for clock times.

How It Works

Say the hour and add बजे.

  • सात बजे (at seven)
  • दस बजे (at ten)
  • डेढ़ बजे (at half past one)
  • साढ़े तीन बजे (at half past three)

Use the question केतना बजा? to ask the time. The answer is the hour with बजा: सात बजा (it is seven).

With the plain hour, बजे also answers when: ट्रेन दुइ बजे आई (the train will come at two). Combine it with तक and से पहिले: सात बजे तक, सात बजे से पहिले.

Hindi uses the same बजे.

    At seven is सात बजे.
