तक
Until or as Far as: तक
तक marks an end point in place or time.
How It Works
तक has two uses.
- Place: स्टेशन तक (as far as the station), घर तक (up to the house).
- Time: साँझ तक (until evening), सात बजे तक (until seven).
It goes after the noun, like other postpositions. It comes after the changed possessive: हमरे घर तक आवा (he came as far as my house).
Together with a verb it says how long something lasts: देर रात तक जागत रहेन (we stayed up late into the night).
Some speakers also say लै or लगे for as far as. Lessons use तक. Hindi uses तक as well, so the word is easy to learn.
