menga / meni / mendan
Pronouns with Case Endings
Add the case endings to the pronoun: men + -ga → menga (to me), biz + -dan → bizdan (from us). Watch the single n in meni and mening.
How It Works
Every personal pronoun can take every case ending.
1. The forms
- men (I): menga, meni, menda, mendan, mening
- sen (you, familiar): senga, seni, senda, sendan, sening
- biz (we): bizga, bizni, bizda, bizdan, bizning
- siz (you, polite or plural): sizga, sizni, sizda, sizdan, sizning
- ular (they): ularga, ularni, ularda, ulardan, ularning
2. One n, not two
The spelling rules say that when -ni, -ning or -niki is added to men or sen, the ending's n is neither said nor written: meni (me), mening (my), seni, sening. biz, siz and ular are regular: bizni, sizning.
3. The pronoun u is different
u (he, she, it) adds an n before -ga, -da and -dan: unga, unda, undan. It has its own entry: the extra n in unga and bunga.
4. Which ending?
Many English verbs take a plain object where Uzbek chooses a case. Learn each verb with its case:
- menga yordam bermoq — to help me (-ga)
- meni kutmoq — to wait for me (-ni)
- mendan soʻramoq — to ask me (-dan)
- menga qaramoq — to look at me (-ga)
5. Having with -da
menda plus bor says what you have on you: Menda qalam bor (I have a pen on me).

Common Mistakes
Doubling the n in meni or mening.
U menni kutyapti.U meni kutyapti. After men and sen, the n of -ni and -ning is not written: meni, mening, seni, sening.
Using the bare pronoun where a case ending is needed.
U men yordam berdi.U menga yordam berdi.Yordam bermoq (to help) takes the person helped with -ga, so men becomes menga.
