Verb Stem + -یے (Respectful Command)
Respectful Instructions
Use this command form when addressing someone with آپ. Tone and the situation also affect how polite a request sounds.
How It Works
سنیے and بیٹھیے are respectful instructions to listen and sit down.
دروازہ کھولیے asks someone to open the door. The command form comes last.
ذرا دیکھیے asks someone to look. دیکھیے follows the regular pattern from دیکھنا; ذرا can soften the request.
Common irregular forms include کیجیے from کرنا, دیجیے from دینا, and لیجیے from لینا.
