Read the indefinite phrase and the negation as one meaning.

How It Works

Use کوئی for an unmarked unspecified person or singular item. With کو or سے, choose کسی; with a perfective doer, کسی نے is possible.

The negative need not stand directly beside کوئی. A noun, an object or other material can occur between them while the clause still has one negative meaning.

Agreement follows the ordinary construction. A feminine noun such as گاڑی can give feminine آئی even when the whole event is denied.

آج کوئی جواب نہیں آیا۔
No reply came today.
کوئی accompanies the masculine reply noun.
ابھی کوئی گاڑی نہیں آئی۔
No vehicle has come yet.
Feminine گاڑی selects آئی.
میں نے کسی کو نہیں بلایا۔
I did not call anyone.
Use کسی before کو.
کسی نے دروازہ نہیں کھولا۔
Nobody opened the door.
The unspecified doer takes کسی نے.
