Giving the Alternative Outcome Formally
Do this → otherwise, this follows.
How It Works
The first clause provides an instruction, requirement or possibility. بصورت دیگر introduces the consequence in the other case.
The relationship can be made explicit with an اگر sentence. An instruction followed by an unwanted consequence can sound like a warning, but the construction can also offer a neutral alternative.
ورنہ is a common shorter option. This entry concerns conditional consequences; English “otherwise” has additional uses that may need different Urdu wording.
Examples (4)
Complete the form; otherwise, the application will not be processed.
The negative consequence follows if the form is incomplete.
Please reply by Friday; otherwise, we will suggest another date.
The alternative is another arrangement, not a punishment.
If the hall is available, we will meet there; otherwise, the session will be online.
The condition for each of the two arrangements is explicit.
Save a copy of the file; otherwise, you may have to do the work again.
The alternative consequence is possible rather than certain.
