Reflexive Object Pronouns
Sebe is a stressed reflexive form and se its unstressed accusative or genitive counterpart.
How It Works
Sebe is a stressed reflexive form and se its unstressed accusative or genitive counterpart. Use the reflexive when the object refers back to the subject; sebe is useful after a preposition or under contrast.
In Vidi se, the person seen is the subject; Vidi ga points to another referent unless context creates a different relation. Prepositional combinations such as nase and zase retain that reflexive link. Sebe is not an ordinary first-person me pronoun.
