da bi
Purpose Clauses
Da bi can introduce an intended purpose.
How It Works
Da bi can introduce an intended purpose. The l-participle agrees with the purpose clause's subject, which need not be the same person as the main clause's subject.
Separate the actor's intention from the desired outcome. In Poklical sem Ano, da bi mi pomagala, the speaker makes the call but Ana would provide help. Pomagala agrees with Ana; it does not copy the main clause's masculine speaker agreement.
