تمرین می‌کنم برای اینکه بهتر صحبت کنم. Better speaking is the goal of practice.

How It Works

State the goal. هر روز تمرین می‌کنم برای اینکه بهتر صحبت کنم explains what the practice aims to achieve. صحبت کنم belongs to the compound صحبت کردن and identifies the speaker.

Keep a past main event. دیروز آمدم تا به شما کمک کنم reports yesterday’s arrival and its purpose. کمک کنم remains a subjunctive; do not change it to کمک کردم simply to match آمدم.

Change the actor when needed. آرام حرف می‌زنم تا بچه بیدار نشود has the speaker talking and the child not waking. نشود negates the intended waking event; it does not negate the speaking.

Compare a factual reason. آمدم چون به کمک نیاز داشتی gives an asserted reason. آمدم تا کمک کنم gives a goal. A goal may fail, so purpose alone does not prove that help was successfully given.

    I came yesterday to help you.

  3. آرام حرف می‌زنم تا بچه بیدار نشود.

    I speak quietly so that the child does not wake up.

  4. این کتاب را خریدم تا فارسی یاد بگیرم.

    I bought this book to learn Persian.
