اجازه بده بروم
Allowing Someone to Act
اجازه بده + بروم = let me go; اجازه بدهید + بروم is plural or respectful address.
How It Works
Request permission. Use familiar اجازه بده or plural/respectful اجازه بدهید, followed by a subjunctive clause. In اجازه بدهید بنشینم, the listener grants permission and the speaker sits.
Name another actor. اجازه بده سارا هم بیاید asks permission for Sara to come. The verb’s third-person ending agrees with Sara, not with the person granting permission.
Negate the permission. اجازه ندادند بروم says they did not let the speaker go. The past permission verb does not require an English-style tense change in the following Persian subjunctive.
Everyday Iranian speech. A casual request commonly uses بذار برم, from بگذار plus the spoken form of بروم. It is a register choice; it does not replace اجازه بدهید in a formal request.
