तेँ
So and That Is Why
तेँ means so or that is why.
How It Works
| Reason | Result |
|---|---|
| बरखा भऽ रहल छल, | तेँ हम घर मे रहलहुँ। |
| ओ बिमार अछि, | तेँ स्कूल नहि गेल। |
Put a comma before तेँ. The result is a complete clause.
The spelling matters: तेँ (with the chandrabindu) is so. तँ is a small word meaning then, or it highlights a topic: अहाँ तँ पढ़ैत छी.
The partner of तेँ is किएक तँ, which gives the reason after the result. Use one or the other. Speakers choose तेँ when the reason is already known.
