सकब

Being Able to

Level 2Sounds Like sakaba

The joining form plus सकब means can or be able to.

How It Works

VerbJoining formCan

Past: सकलहुँ (I was able). Future: सकब. The negative puts नहि before the main verb or before सकब: हम आइ नहि आबि सकैत छी, हम सुति नहि सकलहुँ.

It means both ability (I know how) and possibility (it is possible). Context shows which: ओ हेलि सकैत अछि (She can swim).

Do not use the -ए form here. That one goes with पड़ब, देब and चाहब.
