गेल छलाह / देखने छलहुँ
Had Done
Put the past of "to be" after the perfect form to say that something was already done.
How It Works
The pattern is the perfect stem plus the past of "to be".
| Subject | Moving verb | Object verb |
|---|---|---|
| हम, अहाँ | गेल छलहुँ | देखने छलहुँ |
| तोँ | गेल छलह | देखने छलह |
| ओ (respected man) | गेल छलाह | देखने छलाह |
| ओ (respected woman) | गेल छलीह | देखने छलीह |
| ओ (plain) | गेल छल | देखने छल |
It looks back from another moment in the past, usually named in the same sentence or clear from the talk: हम अएलहुँ तखन ओ गेल छलाह (When I came, he had already gone).
पहिने (before, earlier) often goes with it. Without पहिने the sentence is still correct.
Do not mix this up with the habit form -ैत छलहुँ, which means "used to". Here the -ल or -ने form comes first, not -ैत.
