Another One and a Different One
English another has two meanings, and Macedonian has two words. Уште едно кафе is one more coffee. Друго кафе is a different coffee.
How It Works
Уште + number — more of the same. Уште means more or still, and a number after it says how many more:
- уште еден чај, уште една чаша, уште едно кафе — one more
- уште две пива — two more beers
- уште малку — a little more
The number agrees with the noun as usual (see еден; една; едно).
Друг — a different one, the other one. It agrees like an ordinary adjective (see придавки: нов; нова; ново; нови): друг ден, друга книга, друго место, други луѓе. With the article it means the other one: другиот автобус, другата страна.
Someone else, something else: некој друг, нешто друго (see некој; нешто; некаде; некогаш).
Which one do you need? In a café, Уште едно кафе gets you a second cup of the same. Друго кафе asks for a different one, for example because yours is cold.
Do not confuse уште here with уште не (not yet) and сѐ уште (still), explained in веќе; сѐ уште; уште не.

Common Mistakes
Using друг when you want one more of the same.
Друго кафе, ве молам.Уште едно кафе, ве молам.Друго кафе asks for a different coffee. For a second cup of the same, say уште едно кафе.
Leaving еден in the masculine before a neuter noun.
Уште еден пиво, ве молам.Уште едно пиво, ве молам.Пиво is neuter, so the number is едно: уште еден чај, уште една вода, уште едно пиво.
