būčiau + -ęs
Past Conditional
būčiau, būtum, būtų + -ęs / -usi = would have done: Jei būčiau žinojęs, būčiau atėjęs (If I had known, I would have come).
How It Works
1. Forms. Use the conditional of būti + past active participle:
- būčiau atėjęs / atėjusi (I would have come)
- būtum atėjęs / atėjusi
- būtų atėjęs / atėjusi
- būtume atėję / atėjusios
- būtumėte atėję / atėjusios
- būtų atėję / atėjusios
2. If ... had ..., would have ... In this past condition-and-result pattern, both parts use the compound conditional:
- Jei būčiau žinojęs, būčiau atėjęs. (If I had known, I would have come.)
- Jei būtum atėjęs vakar, būtum sutikęs Joną. (If you had come yesterday, you would have met Jonas.)
3. Without jei. It can stand alone for a result that did not happen: Be tavo pagalbos nebūčiau suspėjęs (Without your help I would not have made it in time). Mes būtume laimėję, bet pritrūkome laiko (We would have won, but we ran out of time). The ne- goes on būčiau.
4. Past condition, present result. Mix it with the simple conditional: Jei būčiau tada išmokęs anglų kalbos, dabar dirbčiau Londone (If I had learned English back then, I would be working in London now).

If I had known, I would have come.
Said by a man. Both halves use būčiau + participle.
- Jei būtum paskambinusi, būčiau tave pasitikęs.
If you had called, I would have met you.
Paskambinusi is feminine because the person addressed is a woman; pasitikęs is masculine because the speaker is a man.
- Be tavo pagalbos nebūčiau suspėjęs.
Without your help I would not have made it in time.
Negation goes on būčiau.
- Mes būtume laimėję, bet pritrūkome laiko.

If you had come yesterday, you would have met Jonas.
- Jei būčiau tada išmokęs anglų kalbos, dabar dirbčiau Londone.
If I had learned English back then, I would be working in London now.
A past condition with a present result: būčiau išmokęs, then dirbčiau.
