Asking Who with Postpositions
Before a postposition, कौन (who) becomes किस, or किन when you expect more than one person.
How It Works
Before any postposition, कौन (who) changes to किस. A short postposition is written joined to it:
| Form | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| किससे | from whom, with whom | तुम किससे मिलोगे? |
किसका agrees with the thing owned, just like का: किसका घर, किसकी गाड़ी, किसके जूते.
When you expect several people, use (Which people have you invited?). Most of the time, किस is enough.
Before a noun, किस means which: किस कमरे में? (In which room?), किस दिन? (On which day?).
