ვიცი
I Know
ვიცი means I know, for facts and skills.
How It Works
| Who | knows |
|---|---|
| I | ვიცი |
| you (one friend) | იცი |
| he, she | იცის |
| we | ვიცით |
| you (several, or polite) | იცით |
| they | იციან |
The thing you know stays in the nominative: ეს ვიცი (I know this), ქართული ვიცი (I know Georgian).
At Level 3 you will join იცი to a question: იცი, სად არის ნინო? (Do you know where Nino is?)
For a person, use ვიცნობ (I know, I have met): გიორგის ვიცნობ (I know Giorgi).
When the person who knows is a name or a noun, it takes -მა: ნინომ იცის (Nino knows). This is unusual, because other verbs take -მა only in the past group. You will learn this ending at Level 3.
