Reporting Questions
End the sentence with a full stop, because the whole sentence is a statement.
How It Works

The person you ask takes از: از من پرسید (asked me). The verb after که keeps the tense of the question, and its ending changes to fit the new speaker, just as in reported statements.
For a yes or no question, add یا نه to say whether or not: آیا به میله می‌آید یا نه. Use آیا, and never اگر, to say whether.
The same که آیا follows words such as نمی‌دانم (I do not know): نمی‌دانم که آیا او آمده است. A question word works there too: نمی‌دانم که چه وقت می‌آید (I do not know when he is coming).
The person changes with the speaker. The teacher asks us «کجا می‌روید؟» and we report: معلم از ما پرسید که کجا می‌رویم (the teacher asked us where we are going).

آیا starts a yes or no question after پرسید که.
- فرید پرسید که آیا فردا به میله می‌رویم.
Farid asked whether we are going on a picnic tomorrow.
The present tense می‌رویم stays as it was in the question.
- مهمان پرسید که تشناب کجا است.
The guest asked where the bathroom is.
کجا is the question word, and it stays after که.
- مادرم از من پرسید که چرا دیر آمدم.
My mother asked me why I came late.
از من shows who was asked, and آمدم changes from you to I.
- شبنم از دوستش پرسید که آیا به میله می‌آید یا نه.
Shabnam asked her friend whether she is coming on the picnic or not.
یا نه adds or not after آیا.
Common Mistakes
Using اگر for whether.
مادرم پرسید که اگر نان خورده‌ام.مادرم پرسید که آیا نان خورده‌ام.اگر means if in a condition. Use آیا for a yes or no question.
Ending a reported question with a question mark.
معلم پرسید که آیا همه آمده‌اند؟معلم پرسید که آیا همه آمده‌اند.The whole sentence is a statement about the asking, so it ends with a full stop.
