Andorran Administrative Per a

Level 5

Andorran administrative writing uses the shared per/per a distinction for recipients and purposes.

How It Works

A phrase such as ajuts per a les famílies identifies the intended recipients. The grammar is not a separate Andorran rule: it applies the common formal distinction between per for relations such as cause or means and per a for destination or recipient.

Administrative context often makes the recipient explicit through a noun phrase: per als residents, per a les parròquies. Contract the final a before el and els, but not before la or les.

Before infinitives, follow the institution's coherent formal language model rather than claiming that every occurrence of purpose requires an identical construction throughout Catalan. For a purpose clause with its own subject, perquè plus subjunctive may make the relation clearer.
