-ओ / -हूँ

Also and Even: -ओ and -हूँ

Level 2Sounds Like ō ā -hūm̐

The ending glues also to the word before it: हमहूँ, राहुलो, आजो.

How It Works

WordWith also
हमहमहूँ
ऊउहो
ओकरओकरो
राहुलराहुलो
आजआजो

The ending usually means also: राहुलो आई (Rahul will come too). With time words, it can mean even or still: आजो बरखा होत बा (it is raining even today).

Use -हूँ with हम and तू: हमहूँ, तूहूँ. Use -ओ with every other word: ओकरो, राहुलो, आजो, रउरो. A final -ा drops before it: लइका becomes लइको.

Writing may use भी, which is the Hindi word for also. It is understood but is mostly seen in books and online.
