In or Inside
में comes after a noun and means in.
How It Works
में means in or inside.
| Use | Example |
|---|---|
| place | पटना में, गाँव में |
| container | झोला में, कप में |
| season | बरखा में, सावन में |
It follows the noun: घर में (in the house), not में घर.
For home, speakers often use the -े ending instead: हम घरे बानी. For places like a shop or a roof, use पर: दुकान पर, छत पर.
Use में when something is inside. If it is on a surface, use पर. If it comes from somewhere, use से.
