घरे
At Home and to Market: -ए
Add -े to a few common place words: घरे, बजारे, खेते, दुआरे.
How It Works
For a handful of everyday places, Bhojpuri adds -े instead of using में or पर. The -े form means both at and to.
| Place | With -े | Example |
|---|---|---|
| घर house | घरे | ऊ घरे बा। |
| बजार market | बजारे | हम बजारे जात बानी। |
| खेत field | खेते | बाबूजी खेते बाड़ें। |
| दुआर door, yard | दुआरे | लइका दुआरे बा। |
With a verb of being, such as बा, the -े form means at: घरे बा. With a verb of going, such as जात बा, it means to: घरे जात बा.
Do not add this -े to every noun. For a school, an office or a station, use में or पर: स्कूल में, ऑफिस में, स्टेशन पर. For words that take -े, listen for them and copy them.
