তোমালোক / আপোনালোক
You All
তোমালোক and আপোনালোক are “you all”.
How It Works
| Group | Verb | Example |
|---|---|---|
| তোমালোক | -া | তোমালোক ক’লৈ যাবা? |
| আপোনালোক | -ে | আপোনালোক কেনে আছে? |
The pronouns are built from the singular stems তোমা- and আপোনা- and the word লোক “people”. The verb matches the singular: তুমি আছা, তোমালোক আছা; আপুনি আছে, আপোনালোক আছে.
When the group does an action to something, the pronoun usually takes -ে. So তোমালোকে কি কৰি আছা? asks “what are you doing?” to a group of friends. With no object it often stays bare, as in তোমালোক গ্ৰীক নেকি? “are you Greek?”.
The singular forms তুমি and আপুনি take no ending when they act.
