Level 2Sounds Like siham̐ta / tē'ōm̐lōka

সিহঁত and তেওঁলোক both mean “they”. The relationship decides which to use.

How It Works

PronounUseWhen they act
সিহঁতfriends, family, children, animals, thingsসিহঁতে
তেওঁলোকelders, teachers, anyone you respectতেওঁলোকে

These are the plural of সি and তেওঁ. Because the verb does not change for one or many, সিহঁত শোৱে uses the same verb form as সি শোৱে.

When the group does an action to something, the pronoun takes -ে: সিহঁতে ভাত খায় “they eat rice”. The receiver forms are সিহঁতক and তেওঁলোকক.

Use the same level for the whole conversation. If you speak of your teacher with তেওঁ, speak of your teachers with তেওঁলোক.
