How It Works

SubjectReceiverMeaning
মইমোকme
তুমিতোমাকyou (friend)
আপুনিআপোনাকyou (respected person)

These forms are used for the person who is told, given, asked, helped or liked: মোক সহায় কৰক “please help me”.

They are also the person in the sentences with লাগে “need”: মোক চাহ লাগে “I need tea”. With ভাল লাগে “like”, the person takes -ৰ instead: মোৰ চাহ ভাল লাগে.

The vowel of the stem changes: মই to মো-, তুমি to তোমা- and আপুনি to আপোনা-. The same stems appear before -ৰ, as in মোৰ, তোমাৰ and আপোনাৰ.
