کو + Noun + چاہیے

Saying What Someone Needs

Level 1

With a plural needed item, you may encounter both unchanged چاہیے and plural چاہییں.

How It Works

مجھے ایک ٹکٹ چاہیے means I need one ticket.

ہمیں دو کرسیاں چاہییں means we need two chairs. Here چاہییں marks the plural needed item.

The same need can also be expressed with unchanged چاہیے: ہمیں دو کرسیاں چاہیے.

آپ کو مدد چاہیے؟ asks respectfully whether you need help. A separate pattern with an action, such as an infinitive before چاہیے, expresses should; learn that distinction in the linked entry.
