Noun / Adjective + کرنا / ہونا
Building a Verb from Another Word
Distinguish doing something from a state or change occurring.
How It Works
An adjective-based expression can describe an action on an object: بند کرنا. With ہونا, the affected thing can instead be the subject.
A noun-based expression can have its own gender: صفائی کرنا uses feminine صفائی. In a transitive perfective, that noun can control کی when it has no postposition after it.
Not every noun can simply be combined with both verbs, and not every combination has a one-word English equivalent. Check the attested expression and any required postposition.
