A Common Masculine Plural

When you count several masculine nouns of this type, look for the ے ending in the direct form.

How It Works

ایک بیٹا becomes دو بیٹے in the direct plural.

ایک بچہ becomes تین بچے. The final vowel changes in spelling and sound.

In بیٹے گھر میں ہیں, the plural noun is the subject of ہیں.

Before a postposition, the same noun has an oblique form: بچوں کے ساتھ is with the children.
