Negative Past Statements

Level 3

Use the negative present form of biti with the l-participle for a negative past.

How It Works

Use the negative present form of biti with the l-participle for a negative past. Keep subject agreement and use the genitive for an ordinary direct object under negation.

Nisem prebral knjige contains a negative auxiliary, an agreeing participle and a genitive object. The infinitive prebrati is not substituted for prebral. With two female subjects, the negative past can be nista prišli.
