How It Works

Negation combines with biti in the present: nisem, nisi, ni, nisva, nista, nismo, niste, niso. Do not build these forms with a separate ne before sem or je.

The full pattern is jaz nisem, ti nisi, on ni; midva nisva, vidva/onadva nista; mi nismo, vi niste, oni niso. The negative form still needs number agreement: Ana in Eva nista doma.
