ne morem + Infinitive

Being Unable to Do Something

Level 4

Ne morem combines with an infinitive for inability or impossibility.

How It Works

Ne morem combines with an infinitive for inability or impossibility. Distinguish it from ne smem, which concerns permission, and ni treba, which removes necessity.

The finite forms are ne morem, ne moreš and ne more, followed by an infinitive such as priti. This describes inability rather than an order not to act. For a prohibition, use ne smeš or an appropriate negative imperative.
