Imperfect of aver
Aviái, aviás, aviá, aviam, aviatz, avián: had.
How It Works
| aver | |
|---|---|
| ieu | aviái |
| tu | aviás |
| el, ela | aviá |
| nosautres | aviam |
| vosautres | aviatz |
| eles, elas | avián |
Besides having things, aver covers feelings and age. In the past they use the imperfect: Aviái fam (I was hungry), Aviá fred (he was cold), Aviái vint ans (I was twenty).
The accent matters. Aviái, aviás, aviá and avián carry an acute accent on the stressed vowel, and aviam and aviatz carry none.
The imperfect of i a is i aviá: I aviá un can dins lo jardin. There was a dog in the garden.
